"The Christmas ShoeTalkers are selling very well and we wanted to be sure and offer our customers all the products they want." Plumlee added that in addition to the new holiday products, ShoeTalkers is now selling glow-in-the-dark items with a variety of themes. The company was originally inspired by an 11 year-old girl, Melissa, whose family helped get the franchise off the ground. The product attaches through the shoelaces and features different artwork and colorful phrases, and has been featured in such magazines as Girls' Life and LisaFrank.com. ShoeTalkers Are on a Roll Nashville, TN -- ShoeTalkers, the accessory company featuring little rubberized license plates for shoes, has officially made the big time. The company can be found in retail stores across the country and is rolling out dozens of new styles for the upcoming holiday season. The company was inspired by an 11 year-old girl, Melissa, whose family helped get the franchise off the ground. With a fresh new website and a full-service marketing team pushing her products, Melissa can find her ShoeTalkers in thousands of retail stores, right next to products she used to buy with her allowance. Now 15 years old, Melissa says her head spins with how her product has taken off. "I sometimes don't believe that I can find them in a store down the street in Nashville and my cousin in California can get the same ones," she said. "It's crazy and awesome at the same time." Melissa said her dad recently bought her a Mazda RX8 with her share of the profits, even though she can't legally drive yet. For the holiday season, Melissa and the marketing team created 25 new styles and rolled them out to their retail partners. The holiday season begins traditionally begins the Friday after Thanksgiving, but Melissa said people are already buying the Christmas products from her website. "It's barely into Fall and people are already buying our Christmas designs," she said. "That's how I know it's a great product. It's really exciting." You can see the rest of Melissa's designs at her website (www.shoetalkers.com) or in a retail store near you. ShoeTalker's Teenaged Inventor Buys New Car with Share of Profits Nashville, TN -- ShoeTalkers, the footwear accessory company inspired by an 11 year old girl, has just paid off for its inventor. Melissa, freshly 15 years old and four years into her business venture, recently purchased a Mazda RX8 with her portion of the profits. "I am really excited the idea took off like this," Melissa said. "I told my dad that kids would buy them, and now I have a brand new car to prove it before I can even drive -- I paid the whole thing off with one check!" Melissa has applied for a personalized license plate saying 'S Talk!' "It's cool to walk in a mall or SeaWorld and see kids wearing my product," she added. "Melissa is a just a business natural," said her father. "I thought she had entrepenurial skills, but she knocked me over with this project. It's been a lot fun to watch." Shoe Talkers are described by Melissa as small rubberized license plates for kids' shoes, and they come with a variety of personal messages, including such staples as "Hottie," "WWJD," "CHEER," and with assortment of graphics and colors. Melissa's new line of ShoeTalkers include 12 for the holidays and 12 with religious messages (her favorite is the 'Passion' Cross). These will be sold in gift packs with a cool storage pack as well as individually. ShoeTalkers have recently been picked up by national retail chains in the USA. They can be found on counters in gift shops, amusement parks, and even online with several websites, including Melissa's own (www.shoetalkers.com). Melissa's car is being professionally painted with giant overlays of several of her favorite ShoeTalkers, because, as she puts it, "it's easy advertising and I get a tax write off for doing it. I'm 16, but I'm not stupid." As if there were any doubt. To see pictures of Melissa in her new car (when complete) and to see the rest of the ShoeTalker line, visit www.shoetalkers.com. PRNEWSWIRE -- ShoeTalkers Rapidly Expanding Across USA Nashville, TN -- ShoeTalkers, the footwear accessory company inspired by an 11 year-old girl, announced this week that it has signed up three large national distributors to sell in the full line of ShoeTalkers into retail locations across the USA. "We are very proud to partner with these distributors to place the ShoeTalker line in our target accounts nationwide," said Angela Foglesong, President of ShoeTalkers USA. "We have seen a rapid rise in Internet orders as well as strong retail acceptance." The three distributors are AGS Footwear Group in Virginia, ESKO Shoe Store Specialties in Texas, and Shoe Store Supply in California. The three distributors have split the national market and will be responsible for getting the product line into shoe stores and specialty boutiques in their area. According to Foglesong, that shouldn't be a difficult task. The new company is rushing to keep up with domestic orders, and International interest has also been intense. "This concept is simple but very effective," Foglesong said. "We listened to Melissa, a bright young woman who had her own ideas about what she and her friends wanted to buy, and now it's paying off." ShoeTalkers are small plastic 'license plates' for shoes, which carry a graphic, message, or name for the wearer. They easily loop into existing shoelaces and can be combined to create a specific message. The product line features over 150 names, messages of Faith, preteen 'be-cool' items, and even toddler sayings, like the popular 'right' and 'left' tags to help young children learn to put their shoes on. Other popular items include the 'Christian Fish' symbol, various cheerleading and dance graphics, and the 'I Love Boys' ShoeTalker. The company will also come out with a new line for ShoeTalkers for national and religious holidays, Foglesong said. "We will have a wide variety of graphics and messages to celebrate all holidays," she said. "We are really excited about all the places we can go with this product line." Melissa, the young brains behind the concept, has just begun high school where she is interested in studying dance, art, and business. Her creative concepts are still the basis for each teen and pre-teen design, Foglesong said, and she receives royalties just like any other inventor would. "She is very much the spirit behind the business," Foglesong said. "Without her input, we would be just another company trying to guess what teens like. With her involvement, we don't have to guess."
